Connect Manitoba women to computers and their
potential.
Power Up is a new program that teaches Manitoba women the basics of using a
compuer. From turning the machine on to typing a resume to accessing the
Internet, your Power Up instructor will take you through it so you can
understand how to make the computer work for you.
It is estimated that at least basic computer skills are needed in
two-thirds of jobs in Manitoba
- twice as many as 10 years ago. If you want to try something new -
perhaps a job with more challenge, better pay or more reponsibility - the
skills you learn in Power Up can increase the opportunities available to
you. And help you reach your goals.
The Power Up course will leave you feeling more confident using a
computer. You may even feel inspired to continue on to take more advanced
courses. Regardless of your goals or ambitions, you will be more
self-assured and comfortable with technology. In short, you will be
"powered up" with more knowledge, information and options.
Power Up courses are free of charge and available in communities
throughout the province. They consist of 15 hours of training with an
instructor in a computer lab, broken into four or five sessions. There is
also a workbook and tutorial disk, so you can work on your own and learn
at your own pace if you want.
